The profiles on the Explore Talent site (Acting, Modeling, or Music) work like a virtual portfolio or online listening room. This appears to be a lot more professional than just a MySpace page. They promise to promote your profile, as “the world’s largest talent resource”, and that industry professionals all over the world will view it. The profile is also your own Webpage, with a personal domain name, which you can load with anything about your career including acting, modeling or music stats, video reels, short films, audio/MP3, and voice over reels. We really, really like that you’re able, for the flat rate, to upload an unlimited amount of photos without a $10 to $25 fee for adding or replacing pictures. They will also professionally scan photos, with minor professional re-touching, for free. That could be a pretty good deal, because as any actor or model knows, the more photos a casting director sees the more likely they will be to book you. Included in the price is a Professional Electronic Resume Builder, a fancy name for a fill-in-the-blanks device that will create a resume that displays your headshot and, on the whole, appears to meet the overall industry standard. You can also Google yourself! Explore Talent promises to submit your webpage to major search engines for free, and give you all the detailed visitor statistics. Part of the deal also includes 100 “High Quality Color Business Cards”, which sounds like pocket-sized Zed Cards, with your name, color headshot, URL, telephone number, and email address to use while networking and making much-needed connections.
